The AustMS 2026 conference programme advisory board is seeking nominations for plenary speakers at the annual meeting of the Australian Mathematical Society to be held at the University of Western Australia in December 2026.
Plenary speakers should:
- be eminent experts in their area of mathematics;
- be excellent speakers, able to deliver an engaging talk to a non-specialist audience; and
- be able to attend the conference in-person in December 2026.
We are seeking nominations for both domestic and international speakers.
We would particularly appreciate suggestions for the following:
- The Hanna Neumann Lecturer: This honours the achievements of women in mathematics. Please consider female mathematicians for this role.
- The Dr Yunupingu lecture: This lecture is designed to increase the visible representation of under-represented groups in mathematics. The topic of the lecture may be on mathematical research, or on issues surrounding equity and diversity in mathematics, or both. Please consider mathematicians who are from under-represented groups for this role.
- A public lecturer.
