Congratulations to Professor Nalini Joshi for two recent noteworthy achievements.
- Nalini has received the 2024 Royal Society of NSW Pollock Award and Lectureship: https://www.royalsoc.org.au/announcement-of-the-2024-royal-society-of-nsw-awards/.
This is awarded every 3 years in physical sciences and mathematics excluding chemical and earth sciences. The first awardee was TM Cherry in 1949. - Nalini has also been recently elected as one of 5 new members of the Governing Board of the International Science Council: https://council.science/news/new-governing-board-members-2024/. This creates an opportunity to make sure that Australian mathematics is represented at one of the highest international levels of science governance. Her 4-year term takes effect at the General Assembly in Oman in January 2025.
