A. FOR MEMBERS OF THE AUSTRALIAN MATHEMATICAL SOCIETY

1. The AustMS WIMSIG Cheryl E. Praeger Travel Awards are designed to provide full or partial support for Australian female mathematicians to attend conferences or to visit collaborators, with approximately eight domestic Travel Awards and four international Travel Awards awarded annually. Details of eligibility and deadlines can be found at https://austms.org.au/special-interest-groups/wimsig/praeger-travel-awards/.

2. The AustMS WIMSIG Anne Penfold Street Awards provide additional financial support to Australian mathematicians for their caring responsibilities, while they travel for conferences or research visits to collaborators, with approximately four Awards awarded annually. The potential uses of these Awards include, but are not limited to, short-term childcare or professional carers for elderly relatives. These Awards are open to people of any gender. B. FOR CARERS

1. The Capstone Editing Carer’s Travel Grant for Academic Women provides up to A$3,000 for one academic per year who is the primary carer of at least one child under five years old (or the primary carer of an older child if you are a single parent or in the case of children with disabilities.) The grant can be used in whatever way is best for your personal circumstances, for example, to cover the cost of your child or children and a companion to travel with you or to cover the cost of childcare while you are away at a conference or on a research field trip. As part of the application, you need to outline the scope of your research project and how you plan to use the funds, and provide evidence of the costs involved. C. FOR RESEARCH STUDENTS

1. Research students studying full-time in AMSI member institutions may approach their AMSI representative about providing support to attend this AMSI-sponsored workshop. To determine if your organisation is a member, visit https://amsi.org.au/membership/members/.

2. The Capstone Editing Conference Travel Grant for Postgraduate Research Students provides up to A$3,000 for one (domestic or international) student per year to assist in covering the costs of attending a conference in relation to their degree. Details of eligibility and deadlines can be found at https://www.capstoneediting.com.au/conference-grant/.

D. FOR RESEARCH STUDENTS AND EARLY CAREER RESEARCHERS

Mathematical sciences departments of each AMSI member institution receive an annual travel allocation. These funds are held by AMSI and cover reimbursements to member institutions for authorised receipted travel expenses of their students and early careers researchers (without other support) to attend AMSI workshops, meetings, and courses. Students or early career researchers from AMSI member universities without access to a suitable research grant or other source of funding may apply (with approval of the Representative of Mathematical Sciences to whom you should make an initial approach) for subsidy of travel and accommodation out of the departmental travel allowance.
