The objectives of the Group are to promote:
(a) the application of probability theory to population biology, ecology, epidemiology, chemical kinetics, manufacturing processes, financial and communication networks, service and queuing processes;
(b) development of methods for evaluation and control of random phenomena.
These may include dynamic programming, Markov decision process, discrete event simulation, rare-event simulation and large deviations.

Travel Support Scheme
The applied probability special interest group (APSIG) of AustMS have limited funds available to support HDR students & ECRs from Australian Universities travelling to the upcoming INFORMS-APS conference (June 28–30 2023, in Nancy, France).
