The Society’s main conference is the Annual Meeting, which has been held annually since the Society’s foundation in 1956. The forthcoming annual conference is the 2021 AustMS Meeting.
Attendees at all meetings and events supported by the Society are expected to adhere to the Society’s Code of Conduct.
The annual conference includes the presentation of Society awards, plenary lectures, special sessions and the Society’s Annual General Meeting. Student members are encouraged to present talks on their work at the conference and there is an annual student talk prize. To facilitate attendance at the annual conference by student members, the Society has a student support scheme.
Every odd year one of the plenary lectures at the annual conference is delivered by the Mahler Lecturer, as part of the Mahler Lecture Tour. Every odd year the conference is preceded by an Early Career Workshop. Each year, the Hanna Neumann Lecturer , chosen to honour the achievements of women in mathematics, presents a plenary talk at the annual conference.
