8th Australian Algebra Conference, AAC08

The 8th Australian Algebra Conference will be held at the Mathematical Sciences Institute at the Australian National University. The Australian Algebra Group has been a special interest group of the Australian Mathematical Society (AustMS) since 1988.

  Title: Essential Dimension of Linked Pairs of Cyclic Algebras
  Abstract: Cernele and Reichstein proved that the essential dimension of linked pairs of quaternion algebras over fields of characteristic not 2 is 3. We complete the picture in the characteristic 2 case and extend the result to any pair of linked cyclic algebras of degree p over a field of characteristic p.
