SUMMARY:MATRI✗: Hyperbolic DEs in Geometry and Physics — postponed
DESCRIPTION:Hyperbolic Differential Equations in Geometry and Physics\nDates: 7–18 December 2020\nVenue: University of Melbourne\, Creswick campus\nWater Street\, Creswick\, Victoria\, 3363\, Australia \n \nProgram Description\nNon-linear differential equations of hyperbolic type underlie many of the main focus points in mathematical physics and geometric analysis. Their study influences and connects topics like general relativity\, fluid dynamics\, spectral theory\, and dynamical systems. Our conference will bring together world leaders in cutting edge research areas to discuss hyperbolic equations and their many facets; this includes experts in fluids working on the Navier–Stokes equations\, in general relativity working on important problems like cosmic censorship and global stability of special space-times\, and in micro-local analysis\, which has recently found important use in well-posedness problems for quasi-linear PDEs. \n \nRegistration:\n\nDeadline: 7 October 2020\nRegistration is by invitation only.\n\nFor similar MATRI✗ workshops\, consult this announcement. \nMATRI✗ Wine and Cheese Afternoon: 8 December 2020.\nOn the first Tuesday of each program\, MATRI✗ provides a pre-dinner wine and cheese afternoon. Produce is locally-sourced to showcase delicacies from the region. \n \nOrganisers\n\nJesse Gell-Redman (Univ. Melbourne)\nAndrew Hassell (Australian Nat. Univ.)\nTodd Oliynyk (Monash Univ.)\nVolker Schlue (Univ. Melbourne)
