The new year brings fresh opportunities, and we are delighted to announce that applications for the prestigious WIMSIG Praeger and Street Awards are now being accepted for the first round of 2024. These awards, funded by the Australian Mathematical Society (AustMS) and administered by the Women in Mathematics Special Interest Group (WIMSIG), provide outstanding avenues for personal and professional growth.

The Cheryl E. Praeger Travel Awards empower Australian women, trans, and gender diverse mathematicians to attend conferences or visit collaborators, fostering connections and advancing their research. Named after the esteemed Prof. Cheryl E. Praeger AM FAA, these awards celebrate her unwavering support for women in mathematics.

Additionally, the Anne Penfold Street Awards offer financial assistance for caring responsibilities, ensuring that Australian mathematicians can travel for conferences or research visits without compromise. Honouring Prof. Anne Penfold Street AM’s dedication to intellectual development and peer support, these awards promote inclusivity and work-life balance.
